School Announcements and Information
SUNY Potsdam’s Annual High School Lab Day
On Saturday, November 5th 2011, students from grades 8-12 attended SUNY Potsdam’s Annual High School Lab Day with Mrs. Putman. The students attending, participated in various lab activities and then met together as a large group to watch the chemistry show. Abby Basford, Kaitlyn LaShomb, Carter Pierce and Courtney Young attended the biology labs; Island Biogeography and Extraction of DNA from a Plant. Alicia LaRose, Danielle Moyer, Taylor Skelly, Amanda Smith, Mikayla Tompson, Shelby Williams and Alysabeth Wing all attended the earth science activities, which included examining various rocks and enjoying a presentation in the planetarium. Scarlett Cameron, Cassandra Layng and Alexis Michael completed labs on polymers. In one of the labs they made “Flubber” and in the other lab activity they made nylon. All of the students had a terrific time and look forward to attending again next year.
